OKC ready for new New Year's Eve celebration to ring in 2026
A New Year's Eve celebration is coming back to Oklahoma this week, a couple of years after the city's annual Opening Night party ended. The City of OKC is preparing for a New Year's Eve celebration to celebrate the arrival of 2026. The METRO LIBRARY is hosting an early celebration of the year, with activities including music, dancing, and crafts. Other notable activities include a 100-drank show at SCISSORTAIL Park, a live band, fireworks, and a celebration at CICERO Park. The city will also be closed for the holiday, with many city offices and animal welfare offices expected to close for the holidays. Trash and recycling will be collected on New Year’s Eve, and trash and recycling recycling will move to January 3rd. Other events include a big shake-out at SCissorTAIL park and a free family-friendly event at Tower Theater.
