Tonaquint, a leading data center solutions provider serving emerging markets, has announced it is currently upgrading its newly acquired EdgeX data center facility in Oklahoma City. Tonaquint obtained the 65,000-square-foot Tier III facility late last year as part of the company’s acquisition of EdgeX to expand and enhance it into a premier multi-client data center for the region.

Just months after the acquisition, Tonaquint is already elevating the former single-client site into a robust, high-density colocation facility. Tonaquint is deploying a minimum of 2.5MW of critical IT capacity to start, with the potential to grow that figure to 12MW. Enhancements are underway, including refreshed client spaces and upgraded chilled water cooling that can support the needs of artificial intelligence and other data-intensive workloads.

“This state-of-the-art facility will be well-prepared for the demands of new clients and the increasing capacity requirements of AI workloads. These enhancements further position this facility as one of the region’s most future-forward and resilient data centers.”

The facility is strategically located near the Will Rogers World Airport on a secure four-acre campus and offers two 10,000-square-foot data halls. It is engineered to withstand winds up to 310 mph, providing hardened protection. Tonaquint is currently taking orders from clients, with delivery beginning this April.

The Oklahoma City facility augments Tonaquint’s existing data center platform, which includes locations in Boise, Idaho and St. George, Utah. These sites provide cloud, backup, disaster recovery and network services for mid-market enterprises across the Mountain West and Southwest regions.
