Initiative aims to have Norman residents, businesses go solar by 2025

Norman residents and businesses have the opportunity to go solar by 2025 as part of one of the biggest solar initiatives in the nation. The initiative aims to encourage residents and businesses to switch to solar energy by 2025, aiming to create two megawatts of SOLAR ENERERGY equivalent to SOLAR PANels in 200 homes by the end of the year. The goal is to create this project as part of a way that people can participate in ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY. The city of Norman, Oklahoma, has partnered with 820, an OKLAHOMA-based company that focuses on SOLAR energy transition in the region. The project aims to create the largest city LED SOLAR INITIative in the country or in the US. An event for the public will be held on April 3rd at 4pm.

COUNTRY. IT’S QUIET NOW, BUT EARLIER THIS MORNING MANY NORMAN LEADERS MET HERE AT CITY HALL TO SPEAK ABOUT THE NORMAN SOLAR INITIATIVE. IT’S IT’S A PROJECT TO ENCOURAGE RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS TO SWITCH TO SOLAR ENERGY. WHAT WE’RE TRYING TO DO IS HAVE A WAY THAT PEOPLE CAN ENGAGE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY. NORMAN MAYOR LARRY HAKOLA SAID THE GOAL HERE IS TO PRODUCE TWO MEGAWATTS OF SOLAR ENERGY, WHICH IS EQUIVALENT TO SOLAR PANELS IN 200 HOUSES BY THE END OF JANUARY NEXT YEAR. IF WE’RE SUCCESSFUL, THAT WILL MAKE NORMAN THE, I THINK, THE LARGEST CITY LED SOLAR INITIATIVE IN OKLAHOMA OR IN THE US. THE US. IN THE US, THE CITY OF NORMAN PARTNERED WITH 820, AN OKLAHOMA BASED COMPANY THAT FOCUSED ON SOLAR ENERGY TRANSITION IN THIS REGION. THE CEO SAID THAT THEY ARE HERE TO STRENGTHEN THE COMMUNITY’S GOAL TO REDUCE CARBON EMISSIONS. IT STARTS WITH THAT VISION OF WHAT WE WANT NORMAN TO BE ABOUT. UM, AND SO WE FOUND THAT REALLY INVIGORATING, UH, WATCHING THEM WALK THROUGH THE PROCESS AND SELECTING THIS ONE OF THE PILLARS OF THE PROJECT IS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ON SOLAR ENERGY. SO THEY’RE GOING TO HAVE AN EVENT FOR THE COMMUNITIES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON APRIL 3RD AT 4 P.M. FOR ALL OF THAT INFORMATION, HEAD OVER TO KOCO.COM UNDER THE AS SEEN ON
