SHAWNEE, Okla. (KFOR) — Linny Stallin was arrested Wednesday in Oklahoma City by the U.S. Marshals and Oklahoma City Police, almost two months after the first attack took place.

“We reached out to the U.S. Marshals,” Vivian Lozano, PIO for Shawnee PD said. “We have a couple officers that are assigned to the Marshals task force and so we reached out to them and with their connections, they were able to apprehend him in Oklahoma City.”

Two assaults and robberies taking place nearly two months apart at the Shawnee Post Office, sending both victims to the hospital.

Stallin was arrested today accused of both attacks. Shawnee PD says this isn’t his first run in with the law.

“He’s recently released from prison, I think, in January, and he was staying with a family member here in Shawnee,” Lozano said.

Lozano says the cameras inside the post office still aren’t working, and there have never been cameras on the outside of the building.

However, that decision would be made by the U.S. Postal Service.

“We have been in communications with them and we’re in the hopes to be able to get something done in the future,” Lozano said. “But, that’s going to be depending on the postal service.”

We reached out to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service who told News 4 the following:

“The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is extremely pleased knowing this suspect has been apprehended. We commend the efforts of the Shawnee Police Department and others for their commitment to bringing these offenses to a resolution in this manner. The security of our Post Offices, its employees and customers is a top priority for Postal Inspectors. We would always ask the public to help stop crime by utilizing prevention methods wherever they go, like parking in a lighted area that’s visible to others, remaining alert to your surroundings, exhibiting confidence in your presence, and not having valuables like jewelry or cash on display. We appreciate the District Attorney’s Office in advance for their dedication to prosecute this case to the fullest extent of the law possible.”

They could not answer if they would add security cameras to the exterior of the building, but Lozano says they plan to step up patrols in the area to help everyone feel safe at the post office.

“We do have extra patrols and our officers are assigned to districts and they’ll be in the area patrolling,” Lozano said. “So, hopefully something like this doesn’t happen again.”

Stallin is currently being held at the Pottawatomie County Jail and faces two counts of first degree robbery.
