The mural should be both dynamic and visually impactful to welcome people from around the world to the state of Oklahoma. The artist or team of artists will receive $6,000 to create the mural, which will be located on an exterior wall near the terminal’s entrance. The deadline for submissions is July 1.

STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) — The Oklahoma Arts Council is partnering with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell, and the Stillwater Regional Airport are looking for an artist or a team of artists to create a mural for the airport.

The mural should be both dynamic and visually impactful in order to welcome people, who are traveling from around the world, to the state of Oklahoma. The mural will be beneficial to state tourism and showing pride for residents.

Artists will include in the mural their interpretation towards the Official Brand of the State of Oklahoma and incorporating the phrase, “Welcome to Oklahoma.” The vision for the mural will signify that Oklahoma is the ideal place for people to live, work, and thrive.

The mural will be located on an exterior wall towards the terminal’s entrance, in an area where passengers arrive and exit. The priorities for the artwork will include both colorful imagery’s and unified aesthetic.

The artist or team of artists that are selected will receive $6,000 to create the mural. All costs towards the project will be covered by the budget, which includes, the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation.

The opportunity is open for artists who are living in Oklahoma and the deadline for submissions is July 1.
