The event was held at the YMCA gym on the Tulsa Community College Northeast Campus and allowed families to learn about infant health and safety, connect with local organizations and find services during pregnancy and early parenthood. Robin Daniels, program manager for the Tulsa Health department’s Healthy Start program, said the event helps directly connect resources directly to families in North Tulsa, which has a higher infant mortality rate than other communities. The annual event aims to help families prepare for the arrival of a baby while also connecting them with organizations and services they can continue to use beyond the event itself.
