Miranda Hanson, who lives near where the shooting occurred, heard gunshots and discovered her neighbor on the ground outside her front door. The victim was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital where he later died. The minor was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint and an affidavit states that the victim was the minor's grandfather. The shooting occurred in a quiet neighborhood and was described as "super loud" compared to other loud noises from roofers.

I HAD MY BACK DOOR OPEN, AND THEN I HEAR A POP, AND THEN I HEAR A POP AGAIN. SKY FIVE WAS ON THE SCENE AFTER THE VICTIM WAS SHOT IN THE CHEST AND TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH LIFE THREATENING INJURIES.
