The races have begun, attracting riders from around the country and the world.

"It's gonna be, it's gonna be fun," he said.

Are you nervous? "A little bit, a little bit cause it’s a big field," he said.

Venezuela! "Yes Venezuela," he said.

When you watch a Tulsa Tough race you're watching the cream of the crop.

What does Tulsa Tough mean in the world of cycling? "To me I think it’s probably one of the toughest crit series in the nation," said Emde.

"This is the Super Bowl right? Like this is as big as it gets in crit racing," said Jacob Walker.

"Anybody who’s anybody races here," said Teri Sibai.

"One of the marquee races if you’re a crit racer in America," said Orgi.

"It's better, better, better race for all riders style," said Dorcat.

The intensity level is extreme, with one rider describing it as a chess match at 40 miles per hour.

"High consequence activity." Meaning you could fall? "Oh yeah, if you hang out here long enough this weekend you’ll absolutely see some crashes," said Walker.

We’re not playing here, once you start going, you go. "You go, yeah, once you start going you don’t look back, you look to see who’s next to you but you just focus and just keep riding," said Orgi.

Three days of adrenaline topped off with insanity.

"Sunday is the hardest race of the weekend, Crybaby hill," said Emde.

It's like a Mardi Gras with a bike race through it. "So I’ve heard, I’m looking forward to it," said Walker.

"That climb is definitely the hardest, you’re putting out like one and a half horsepower the whole time up it," said Emde.

"I heard so many stories about it." Crybaby hill’s crazy, it’s like Mardi Gras but with a bike ride in the middle of it. "With a bunch of people sitting around screaming," said Orgi.

So saddle up, cheer on, and good luck!
